The Waipa Foundation is a non-profit organization working to restore a 1,600 acre ahupua'a (a native Hawaiian land division that follows the watershed from the mountains to the ocean) located on the north shore of Kaua’i.  The foundation evolved out of a local community initiative that began in the 1980s, and now maintains the Waipa ahupua'a through natural resource management and community engagement projects.  The Stiller Foundation has provided support to the Waipa Foundation for the construction of a community kitchen and poi mill in Hanalei, Hawaii.  For more information on the Waipa Foundation, visit their website,
